In my latest video, we break down the essential points of this new policy and guide you through the steps to properly disclose AI-generated content in your book listings.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\ud83d\udcda What You Need to Know About KDP&#039;s New AI Policy: A Comprehensive Guide \ud83e\udd16\" width=\"708\" height=\"398\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GWGw5Yz2Xv0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Here&#8217;s the text of the new AI policy taken from <a href=\"https:\/\/kdp.amazon.com\/en_US\/help\/topic\/G200672390\">KDP&#8217;s Content Guidelines<\/a> page:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Artificial intelligence (AI) content (text, images, or translations)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We require you to inform us of AI-generated content (text, images, or translations) when you publish a new book or make edits to and republish an existing book through KDP. You are not required to disclose AI-assisted content. We distinguish between <strong>AI-generated<\/strong> and <strong>AI-assisted<\/strong> content as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>AI-generated<\/strong>: We define AI-generated content as text, images, or translations created by an AI-based tool. If you used an AI-based tool to create the actual content (whether text, images, or translations), it is considered &#8220;AI-generated,&#8221; even if you applied substantial edits afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>AI-assisted<\/strong>: If you created the content yourself, and used AI-based tools to edit, refine, error-check, or otherwise improve that content (whether text or images), then it is considered &#8220;AI-assisted&#8221; and not \u201cAI-generated.\u201d Similarly, if you used an AI-based tool to brainstorm and generate ideas, but ultimately created the text or images yourself, this is also considered &#8220;AI-assisted&#8221; and not \u201cAI-generated.\u201d It is not necessary to inform us of the use of such tools or processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are responsible for verifying that all AI-generated and\/or AI-assisted content adheres to all content guidelines. For example, to confirm an AI-based tool did not create content based on copyrighted works, you&#8217;re required to review and edit any AI tool outputs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To disclose your book was generated with the help of AI, you need to check the Yes button in the AI-Generated Content section on the Paperback Content page when you set up your book. Then specify how you used AI in the creation of your book and list the AI tools you used. <em>(See video above for all the details.)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here are the most important take-ways:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. You must disclose that you used AI to generate any portion of your book when you publish it.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. You are responsible for checking that the AI-generated content you used is not based on a copyrighted work.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. If you used AI to generate the text, image, or translation before modifying it for your book, it is considered AI-generated and must be disclosed.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
